Maksymilian Sologub
6 yo
Maksym – a special boy who fights every day for a better tomorrow Maksym is 6 years old. Since birth, he has been struggling with many serious conditions: childhood autism, secondary mitochondrial dysfunction, hypermobility syndrome, connective tissue dysplasia, metabolic disorders, and strabismus. In addition, he suffers from gluten and lactose intolerance. Every day, he needs the care and support of many specialists. He regularly participates in classes with a physical therapist, sensory integration therapist, neuropsychologist, psychologist, and alternative communication therapist. Due to his coexisting conditions, he cannot walk for long periods of time and still uses a stroller. Maksym does not speak and has difficulty understanding speech, sensing his body, and eating. When he is ill or does not have access to therapy, his condition deteriorates rapidly – he experiences severe migraines and aggressive outbursts. He also does not understand danger, which is why he requires constant care and the safety of a loved one. Despite this, Maksym is an extremely sensitive and cheerful boy. He loves cars, walks in the woods, and warm hugs.
When therapy is conducted regularly, the effects become apparent – his aggression decreases, he becomes calmer, more willing to interact with others, and smiles more often. It is clear that he wants to communicate and is becoming more open to the world.
In order to continue to develop and make progress, Maksym really needs systematic rehabilitation and the help of specialists. However, the costs of therapy are enormous and exceed the family's means.
Every bit of support, no matter how small, is of great importance. Thanks to it, Maksym can continue to fight for his place in the world – step by step, with hope and a smile. 💛
